Scrub
Physical exfoliation clears the buildup that dulls your complexion and blocks pores. Used correctly, a scrub leaves skin visibly smoother in one wash.
Face scrub
Use a gentle scrub on the face no more than twice a week. Massage in light circles for 30 seconds on damp skin, focusing on the nose, chin and forehead where buildup collects, then rinse with lukewarm water.
Body scrub
The body tolerates more pressure than the face. A body scrub is useful on rough patches, knees, elbows and the backs of arms, and works best on damp skin before your usual body wash.
How often is too often
Over-scrubbing causes more problems than it solves: redness, tightness and a damaged barrier that makes dullness worse. Twice a week is enough. If your skin feels tight afterwards, cut back to once.
